I have three news items that are relevant to the fulfillment of the events I described in Living in the Age of the Ram and the Goat. Two of them pertain to a report from General Ray Odierno I saw posted at DEBKA General Odierno describes his estimation of what will happen in Iraq after the United States Armed Forces pull out. His view is that three things will occur: 1.) Shias and Sunnis will fight for control in Central Iraq, 2.) Kurds will solidify control with their forces in northern Iraq and expand their territory further south towards Baghdad, and 3.) Iran will take control of the oilfields in Southern Iraq (60% of Iraq's oil supply) along with some Muslim holy sites. This week as reported by Radio Free Europe the Kurds moved the Kurdish forces, the Peshmerga, into northern Iraq supposedly as protection against the riots in Iraq. I believe this is a ruse. I am convinced just as this article implies is that the Kurds are putting their forces in place to expand their holdings just as General Odierno predicted. Also this week Moqtada Al Sadr has returned to Iraq from Iran as reported in Fox News. Al Sadr's return to Iraq is also tied to General Odierno's forecast. Al Sadr is the most influential Shia political figure in Iran. His return is necessary to marshal the shia followers against the Sunnis.
Finally a chief event in Iran that I mention in my book that must occur for the fulfillment of the "ram" is the rise of the Kurds through the democratic movement in Iran. It is interesting to note that the Green Movement has been quiet for almost a year now but the general mood of revolution in the Middle East has rejuvenated it lately.
