How Egypt and United Nations Reform Impact the Middle East

Yesterday (Feb. 11, 2011) was a very big day for world events that are relevant to my book on prophecy, "Living in the Age of the Ram and the Goat".  I think everybody followed in the national news about Mubarak stepping down as president of Egypt but another event that may be just as important is President Barack Obama's announcement to reform the United Nations in order to "strengthen" it.

Since Mubarak has stepped down this opens the door to so-called "democracy" in Egypt.  The Islamic radicals will use the situation to put a wedge between Egypt and the U.S.  As I have mentioned before this will mean that the Suez Canal will not be accessible to the U.S. in the case Iran decides to invade Iraq, Turkey and Saudi Arabia as I proposed in my book.  This revolution may also generate some energy in the movement that Iran has been supporting: the transition of any nation in the Middle East that is a friend of the U.S. to a pro-Islamic enemy of the U.S.  Iran is hoping that Egypt will cause a tidal wave that will remove any U.S. influence in the region.  This will make it all the much easier for Iran to invade Iraq, Turkey and Saudi Arabia which are all allies of the U.S.

Yesterday (Feb. 11th, 2011) the Drudge Report had a news articled titled "Obama Administration Has Plan to Strengthen U.N."  I believe this announcement by President Obama marks the beginning of his intention to replace current Secretary General of U.N., Ban Ki Moon even if it wasn't explicitly mentioned in the article.  Why reform the U.N. if you don't plan to replace the Secretary General?  As I mentioned in my book, Daniel's vision of the Ram and the Goat will not be completely fulfilled until we have a Secretary General from Greece.  Ban Ki Moon is near the end of his first five year term and speculation has been that he may not be re-elected for his second term.  It has been rumored that Obama plans to replace Ban Ki Moon with someone of his own choosing.  In fact the recent visit of China in the U.S. may play an important role in this.  Inner City Press has suggested that Obama may offer China the presidency of the World Bank (a position that has always been filled by an American) so China will not veto his effort to remove Ban Ki Moon.  Additionally, of all of Obama's supporters Obama is particularly close to Greek-Americans (a large Greek-American group is located in Chicago, his home town).  The possibility that Obama chooses a Greek to fill the Secretary General position is not unlikely.
